Installing
The same file serves as a ringtone or a text tone. Only where you pick it differs.
- Connect your iPhone and open Finder (macOS) or iTunes (Windows).
- Drag the M4R files onto the device, then open the General tab and sync.
- For calls, open Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone.
- For messages, open Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Text Tone.
- Copy the MP3 files to your phone's
Ringtonesfolder for calls, orNotificationsfor messages. - For calls, open Settings → Sound & vibration → Phone ringtone.
- For messages, open Settings → Sound & vibration → Default notification sound.
- For one conversation, open it in Messages, then set its notification sound there.
